Watching Tuesday night’s final performances, I realized it’s pointless to spend any more time and energy discussing whether David A. or David C. is better and should win. They are so different from each other, and will have such different careers no matter which is the next “American Idol,” that the final result will come down to preference. Would you say apples are better than oranges? It’s preference — or maybe you’re still missing that peach that was voted out awhile back. However, I will mention that I just got back from a long weekend with my nieces in Kansas, and Ms. Erin Pennington, age 11, is a fervent fan of “Darchie” and plans to “vote, vote, vote.” So watch out for those tweens.
