Kathy Griffin: ‘D-List’ in small-town St. Louis
The episode of “Kathy Griffin: My Life in the D-List” shot partly in St. Louis when she played the Fox in February is set for 9 p.m. Thursday on Bravo. It was nice of the network’s publicists to let us know — but I have a tiny problem with the headline on the release. See what you think.
TEAM GRIFFIN BRINGS BIG LAUGHS TO SMALL TOWN USA AS BRAVO’S “KATHY GRIFFIN: MY LIFE ON THE D-LIST” INVADES ST. LOUIS, MO, AND TRACY, CA
Excuse me? “Small Town USA”? The publicist responded, oh, I know St. Louis is big. I meant Tracy, Calif. Yeah, well, I want a retraction.
The good news is that the show itself doesn’t embarrass us in any way despite trying to suggest that Fentonite (Fentonian?) Tom Vize, now billed as Kathy’s tour manager, is a big star here. Guy Phillips of Y-98 and Mayor Francis Slay are among those who cameo, and the crowd at the sold-out Fox gets big kudos from Griffin. All us small-town folks can be proud.

yay! i was there that night and can’t wait to see it. i’m also eagerly awaiting the DVD she began recording that night — for her grammy bid, of course.
