Local girls want to be ‘Nashville Stars’

I made an effort and caught Pearl Heart (Florissant sisters Amy, Angela and Courtney Krechel) on the season premiere of “Nashville Star” on NBC Monday night. In the interest of full disclosure, I really don’t like country music. I know, I know; it’s a big genre, and saying I don’t like country music is eliminating a lot of stuff I actually might like. But I grew up in El Dorado, Ark., and heard way too much country on the radio in my formative years. Nevertheless, the girls, whose family moved to Nashville to advance their career, are clearly very talented. The judges were impressed, just told Courtney (the youngest and the lead singer) to work on being the frontwoman and selling the song more. Not to be harsh, and not to recommend tarting them up, but I think they could all use makeovers, too – better haircuts, a little makeup, more polish, a more distinctive look.  Audience voting will keep them around, so if you want to help the local girls out, watch next week and call in.

The girls names are Amy, Angela, & Courtney. Not to be harsh but I think Gail could pay a little better attention to detail.

I’ve corrected this above — I called the twins two other “A” names. Look at the time this blog item was posted and consider how great your “attention to detail” would have been at that hour.

Point taken. Sorry for the “shot” Gail. It was uncalled for.

I think the polish will come as a result of being involved in Nashville Star. In past seasons the first viewing to the last you can see huge advancement on visual presentation. But these 3 have huge talent, it is a joy to watch and listen to them and I will support them for that reason!!

I grew up in Florissant, but live on the East Side now. Inevitable question though since I am a McCluer North grad. Where did the twins go to high school when there were here in Florissant? It sounds like they moved 2 years ago when the older girls would have already graduated.

I thought they sounded great as well. I was so glad the judges did not get caught up in the fact that they did a Dixie Chicks song. Maybe that thing is finally over. I think the full figured woman who sung last might be the one to beat, but I definitely think Pearl Heart has a chance. I have watched every season of NS except the first and the younger contestants always seem to do well.

They were a band in the early 2000’s and played at fairs and outdoor events. A band called Blue steel used to accompany them occasionaly.
They have such a wonderful family, mom and dad. great upbringing.
They also have so much talent. The younest lead singer has been singing since she was 9 or 10.

To respond to Jim W question, Amy and Angela went to Incarnate Word freshman year, then switched to McCluer, which is where Courtney went. These girls are so talented, i see them a little more nervous than they were when they played around town, but thats understandable. I know when they loosen up they will impress everyone. I thought they were adorable last week.Hopefully someone wont change them from what they look like, they are all dolls….We’re watching and voting in Florissant girls…..keep going….
