‘Mole’ mania!

There was a clear divide in my office Monday. People who mole_opt.jpgkept coming over to tell me how excited they were about the return of “The Mole.” And people who wondered when we’d shut up about it.

Apparently, there are a bunch of us “Mole” people in St. Louis. Although nothing on KDNL (Channel 30) is all that high rated, “The Mole” did better than “The Bachelorette” by a full ratings point. And “Mole” fans came out nationally, too. I don’t have ratings yet, but Garricks tells me that when he tried to take the quiz, he got a screen saying the system was overloaded — “Mole” mania rules! (Either that or ABC only thought seven people would be interested.)

As for the show itself, I have my “Mole” candidate (not saying) and really only disliked one thing. I cannot STAND the host’s voice. In fact, I’m not crazy about the host (Jon Kelley) in general. But maybe he’ll improve, and anyway, I’m not bailing because he’s not Anderson Cooper (who wasn’t that great in the beginning either).

I’m going to be interested to see how The Mole plays out online. In 2008 the online community is so much more connected…look at all the LOST blogs! I think people will be discussing the clues and sharing information more than we could “back in the day.”

I saw the color red in a couple of interesting places, and journal #11 seemed to play an important role…I have two Mole possibilities right now…

ABC better balance their server loads before Monday!

Hi, Gail, Scott Stone here (EP of The Mole). The people of St. Louis have great taste in TV shows! Maybe some of your good taste will rub off on the rest of the country next week. Jon Kelley is like a fine wine…improves with age. He’ll grow on you. I hope ;-). If you are into the clues make sure you check out abc.com. Some pretty amazing conspiracy theories there. Next week the gloves come off and sparks fly. Have fun moleing. Scott

Gail, the Mole is one of our favorites as well and we are happy to see it return. The wife and I actually watched a few of the old shows that they were reshowing on satellite just a few days before the latest premiere.

I have to be honest, I got a little bored with the first episode. I found myself drifting back and forth from the tv to the laptop several times. The new host doesn’t have that “it” factor…something Anderson Cooper has, but maybe he’ll get better as the show goes on.

I did have a suspected mole right from the opening credits…and then she was knocked out of the show right off the bat.

I know for a fact that the player Nicole is from East St. Louis, IL… What, no local love for Dr. Whiner?

I no longer will watch the show. Nicole should have been ejected from the show, after making threats to an other contestant. That simply goes to far. It shows that ABC does not care and will do anything for money.
