‘The Bachelorette’: the man for DeAnna
Oddly, although I’m always embarrassed to watch “The Bachelor” — yet always somehow wind up watching it — I’m not at all embarrassed to watch “The Bachelorette,” which is such a different show it should really have a different title. Especially with DeAnna Pappas in the driver’s seat, “The Bachelorette” can’t be mistaken for anything but a sincere attempt to find the right mate, while also trying as hard as possible not to hurt any of the guys who don’t turn out to be the right one. With her final four, she has the field narrowed to some really good choices.
- Jason — my pick from the first night; he’s cute, sincere, smart and comes with an adorable son. DeAnna likes him, but when he’s in a group, he doesn’t come off as flashy enough to draw much attention, and she found him too timid during the four-wheeler date.
- Jeremy — handsome, although his eyes are too close together, throwing his face a little off. In their one-on-one Sinatra date, he made some inroads. So to speak.
- Graham — the sexy basketball player. They have mucho chemistry, and Jason noted the connection this week, right before DeAnna and Graham smooched in a hammock. But I think she’ll realize he isn’t the solid guy she’s looking for.
- Jesse — the snowboarder. He’s fun and fearless. They’d be great pals (but he wouldn’t kiss her). I can’t see it, but then, a lot of people couldn’t see Trista with Ryan the fireman, and look how that worked out.

I don’t like Jeremy. He seems arrogant and a little greedy in stealing time with DeAnna (e.g. he already has “a rose”, but takes her away for some alone time during cocktail parties).
I like her with Graham or Jason. Jason is cute and seesm family committed, something DeAnna is searching for in a man. Graham needs to come off the ball. I see him as one of the final two. Maybe the final choice, it seems that is what DeAnna wants if he can be more open.
Jesse–what a great, non-traditional bachelor. Nice comparison with Ryan. I thought Ryan would be great for Trista, but it seems that the Bachelor always chose wrong so I would assume she would too. I remember almost falling out of my chair when she picked Ryan. Obviously the right choice for her. Maybe Jesse will be the same for DeAnna.
Bachelor commentary done. Bachelorette commentary: Is it just me or does DeAnna seem a little arrogant in this version?
