So “Project Runway” winner Christian Siriano (right) got his highest-profile gig yet dressing host Whoopi Goldberg for the Tony Awards. Apparently, he designed everything she wore, and most of it looked familiar to me from the sketches he showed on “The View.” Unfortunately — I’m not positive this was good for his fashion career. I’m sure she was very difficult, because she has a very distinctive, er, style; she only likes what she likes, and she likes everything big and strange. On the other hand, maybe she needed somebody, er, more grounded to twist her arm and get her into some outfits that would have looked better. In any case, none of this stuff (including a big organza coat thing that she had to hold shut and an oversized silver ruffled tunic) was pretty or flattering, let alone both. Don’t get me wrong; I like Whoopi and I like Christian. I just don’t think this was a match made in style heaven.
