‘Top Chef’: unkind cut (spoilers)

“It’s not a popularity contest,” Lisa said. Yes, it’s a cooking competition. But in the six months between the last regular episode of “Top Chef” and the two-part finale, do you think Lisa watched herself and wondered why she had to be so unpleasant? In Bravo’s poll, 91 percent thought she should “pack her knives and go” — and no wonder.

Nevertheless, those unfortuntely undercooked pigeon peas got Antonia sent home tonight, and that’s sad. Maybe she was just worn out from opening her restaurant, in which case the money would have been nice but she’s already achieved a lot. The race, in next week’s final challenge, was probably always going to be between Stephanie and Richard anyway.

So Richard won the car, and Stephanie wins the show? I’m just saying, there’s probably a car curse on “Top Chef,” just like “Survivor.”

You hate to see Antonia go because while she has been under the radar, she has been cooking consistently good food. Lisa on the other hand seems to always be on the chopping block for some type of failure and it was a complete shock that she was put through to the finale. I agree that ultimately it will be a Stephanie v Richard showdown and I think either of them would be deserving of the title. The last few minutes of the show were priceless with Lisa complaining that she wasn’t being congratulated by Richard and Stephanie–whatever, her food has not been great and her attitude speaks for itself.

I still think its a shame Dale went home so early.

Antonia should not have gone because of one defeat. She is always high on the list and obviously knows her stuff. Lisa - please, that first week’s pout with arms crossed should have sent her packing. She is always on the bottem end of things.

Dale - his attitude should have thrown him off many weeks ago! When you do team events and try to go solo, you are NOT completing the competition as requested. Besides, he was a one trick pony.

Dale was sent home too early. The best final 4 would have been Richard, Stephanie, Dale and Antonia.

Unfortunately, Lisa gets by on the chopping block because another superior chef makes one glaring mistake, taking the emphasis off her own mistake. But what about the consistent mistakes Lisa makes competition after competition? Maybe the judges are told to kept the “hated” Lisa in the competition to flame more and more interest in the show?

Sure Dale had talent, skill and passion, but what about his suggestion to Stephanie that they try and salvage the pork belly that he left out overnight? I can’t think of a more egregious suggestion and to me, it justifies the fact that Dale should not have made it to the finals.

True that Dale did recommend to still use the pork belly, but maybe it was not as funky as thought? But, I do agree, Dale does not play well with others. But he did come up with the original idea for Stephanie to replace the dish with a salad.

Lisa should have definitely gone home - they are always complaining about her food. This is how they always play it though. There are two that are basically in it and one really annoying one left (this year it’s Lisa). Antonia got hurt by circumstances.

I liked Dale too but he was played by Spike. The judges knew and he knew it. He left gracefully, which is more than you can say for some of them.

I like both Richard and Stephanie. I’m pulling for Stephanie since they are both excellent and I’d like to see a woman Top Chef for once.
