No publicity for Pearl Heart on ‘Nashville Star’? Huh?

I just have to respond to this comment on my post about Florissant trio Pearl Heart being eliminated from “Nashville Star”:

I have been a fan of Nashville Star since it started and until yesterday didn’t even know Pearl Heart was from Florrisant. It figures though, unless a story is about the Cardinals, AB or Highway 40, it won’t get much attention from the Post Dispatch. Much like Ballpark Village, this paper is an embarrassment to the city.

Here are the facts. I highlighted the girls with a picture in the paper on the day the show debuted. I also followed them here on Tube Talk, and many people commented. As you know if you KEEP UP, I faithfully follow St. Louisans in all their TV endeavors. Please be sure to let me know in the future if you prefer not to bother to read what I write and would rather just have me email all info to you.

E-mail would be nice, but Gail, would it be too much trouble for you to stop by the house and just TELL me everything that’s going on? That would be so much nicer. And I wouldn’t need these reading glasses any more, either. :P

Gail,
Also, this viewer/reader must have missed the front page of the Post-Dispatch’s entertainment section Friday July 4, in which there was a full interview with all three women (I know, I wrote it, LOL), and well as regular coverage in my own blog, the Blender.

I tried watching Nashville Star, but it is just brutal. Do any of the contestants have an ounce of talent whatsoever? They are just plain awful to listen to. It could be a great ripoff of AI if they could simply find some talent. The show should be named “Bad Nashville Karaoke”!

I didn’t even watch Nashville Star and I knew all about Pearl Heart participating and that they were from here. Gail does a terrific job of keeping us all updated whenever any of our locals (such as Hell Kitchen’s Christina/Farmer Wants A Wife Matt, etc.)are participating on TV shows- even the talk shows! You go, Back-up Singer, Gail.

By the way, Gail- Natasha Bedingfield is going to be in concert here with NKOTB so I guess Gail will be able to do an encore performance for her peeps at home!

Gail,

A huge shout-out must go to Kevin C. Johnson, your colleague. Kevin faithfully has reported, in his blog and cover story, the journey of Pearl Heart. I am surprised that you failed to mention Kevin’s work in your response to your reader, especially since Kevin is a member of the Post Dispatch team. The attack was not only against you but against the paper for whom both you and Kevin work.

I guess your reader may have a point against you for not covering the ladies but against the Post he does not, thanks to music critic, Kevin C. Johnson.

People, just because it comes on t.v. does not mean that is the only place to find a review. If it involves music and the act is local, chances are, Kevin will have it covered. Case in point, his blog item today alerting us that local act, Ludo will be debut on THE TONIGHT SHOW on Friday. He has been covering them for some time too…so just because we have not read it in tube talk, doesn’t mean that it is not being covered by the Post.

Finally, you must be loving LA! I can’t wait to read a fun and interesting story about your trip.

I’m with garricks. But really, I would prefer if you would just come over and set my DVR for the most interesting and/or St Louis-based programming for the evening. Also, a dinner waiting when I walk in the door should not be too much too ask.

It would not only solve the question on whether or not your are giving us enough info, it would also stop complaints about the newspaper’s revised TV guide on Sundays.

I will gladly pay you in Millionaire Money.
