‘Extreme Makeover’: See the coffee shop reveal on Tuesday
The “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” project in Shrewsbury won’t be finished until Wednesday, but project No. 2, Sam Malek’s More Than Coffee shop in Manchester, will be unveiled Tuesday, and the public (that’s you) is invited. The first 300 people to show up will be admitted to the spectators’ area, but even if you didn’t get in, it seems to me that there would be stuff to see, given that the coffee shop – more a kiosk, really — is in the middle of a parking lot. The how-to:
The address is 14240 Manchester Road. Spectators can arrive at 1 p.m. The reveal is planned “at or around 4:30 p.m.” There’s plenty of parking in the lot once used by the defunct Thomasville Furniture store. More info: ExtremeHomeMakeoverStLouis.com

I was so excited to read that extreme makeover was doing two projects in St. Louis. I was even more surprised and excited to read about the coffee shop being made over. I met Sam Malek years ago at a business function. Even though I have not spoken with him in years, I have always remembered what a giving and special person he is. Sam always had a contagious smile and a cheerful greeting for everyone he met. I am so happy for him!

Sam and his family are great people! My son attends high school with his son Tyler. I may have to skip out of work early to see the reveal.
