‘Heroes’ returns: four hours and counting

It’s 2:50 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22, and in four hours, many of us will already be settled in front of the TV, under a cone of silence, waiting not too patiently for the season premiere of “Heroes.” It’s been way too long — since Dec. 3! — since we’ve seen the gang, and just in case we’ve forgotten where we left them, NBC first offers a catch-up special at 7. Following are the first two episodes of the new season’s story arc, “Villains.” I’ve seen the first hour, and we pick up with Nathan Petrelli (Adrian Pasdar) shot during a speech (the shooter is a shocker) dying. We also see Sylar take aim at Claire and Hiro, in Japan, discover a family secret that he immediately regrets. The second hour, apparently even more action-packed, finds criminals with powers — not heroes but villains! — escape from Company incarceration. Catastrophe, possibly destruction of the world, seems inevitable. Hey, welcome back, “Heroes”!

I thoroughly enjoyed last night’s chapters.

However, the HD portion (from Charter?) was in and out at times. This has happened lately on NBC & ABC HD broadcasts. When I switch to the non-HD channels, there’s no problem. Any thoughts as to where the problem is coming from? National broadcasts (via satellite), local feeds or Charter?
