After a year-long breakup, NBC and iTunes have reconciled, with NBC shows again available for download, just in time for the start of the new season. The dispute was over money — isn’t it always? — but NBC shows will be priced the same as everything else: $1.99, or $2.99 in HD. In addition to NBC, the deal brings Bravo, USA and other members of the NBC Universal cable family back into the iTunes fold.

“Terrific news for everyone who loves television and the ease and convenience of Apple’s iTunes,” NBC boss Jeff Zucker said. “We are thrilled,” concurred Apple chief Steve Jobs.

Some details: Some of NBC’s new fall shows — including “Knight Rider,” “My Own Worst Enemy” and “Kath & Kim” — will be on iTunes a week before their premieres. Vintage shows available for 99 cents include “The A-Team,” “The Alfred Hitchcock Hour,” “Miami Vice,” “Kojak” and the original “Battlestar Galactica.”

They should pay ME to watch the old Battlestar Galactica. Ugh. It was dreadful.

Um, there’s another part to that relationship…the consumers!

Since December’s “We’re on a BREAK!” most consumers have found alternative means to watch the shows they would gladly have purchased from iTunes. Will they go back? Doubtful.
