It’s official: I hate ‘Heroes’
I hung in, hopeful, after a lot of my friends and fellow fans quit “Heroes” altogether. I squinted through the darkness of the eclipse last week, trying to believe that Tim Kring and his writers had a plan. But last night’s end-of-the-eclipse episode was just ridiculous, in so many ways. Did anybody really think Claire would stay dead? (I’ll admit: I did, briefly, have hope.) Or Sylar? I suppose we can presume Elle is actually deceased, although why did Sylar open her head, when he already had her powers? The long, long interlude in the dark jungle of Haiti was ultimately pointless, although for some reason I was amused at Nathan’s fourth-grade French. (”Je m’appelle Nathan.”) All in all, though, I could barely pay enough attention to even make it to the end. How could this have happened? How could I hate “Heroes”? And yet: I do.
I’ve never been bothered by the inconsistencies that people have brought up until last night when Sylar killed Elle, I don’t get that one either. Basically, I think of Heroes just as brain candy now where before I actually had to think about it. This could be a benefit. I’ll still watch Heroes, it takes a lot for me to dump a show though.
I didn’t hate it but realized I was doing other things while watching it too which I never did before. I can’t remember exactly what the point was but at around 45 minutes I thought it had some how gone back to the original “feeling” I had for the show. But yes, the jungle bit was pointless and I knew neither of them would stay dead. I don’t think the Elle is dead either. I think Syler hesitated and didn’t complete the kill. I’ll stick with it even though it has lamed out pretty badly.
I had no sooner said to my husband that I thought Sylar had becoming the most interesting, developed character on the show, when Sylar reverted back to his bad old self. Is anyone going to have shades of gray in this show, or is it really all black and white? Incidentally, I agree that it was completely pointless for Sylar to kill Elle, though I won’t be sorry to see her go. They completely wasted poor Kristen Bell.
1st, Sylar killed the way he always kills. 2nd, it had to happen with Bell being just a guest star(shouldn’t have suprised anyone), 3rd I wouldn’t give up the writers are trying to get to a place they should have been at the start of this season(remember, villians was suposed to be the second part of last season, before the strick killed that.) Kring has a plan and a direction to take the show so if your a fan i would just hang in and wait for the big finish(although one thing has been bothering me since last season, what happend to the girl peter took to the future? He changed it but she never was mentioned again?)
Can we say “jumped the shark” ?

I will certainly say that I don’t hang on the edge of my seat like I did in season one. But the last 3 epidsodes or so have not been that bad. I’m not sure if you are aware but they fired most of the writers about 2 months ago and you can tell that Tim Kring is trying to pump life back into the story lines. I think the last 3 episodes were written by Kring and it makes a world of difference. Unfortunately he has to eliminate and work with some of the bad story lines that were created.
It was time for Elle to go. Sylar is a bad guy like he should be - he killed her for the pleasure of doing so - he doesn’t need a reason.
I for one think the show is getting back on track. I like that 9th Wonders is part of the Hiro storyline once again - I’m also glad they cleared that bit up about Issac Mendez - we know he died - there were books published yet after his death.
Hiro also brought back the tag line last night “Save the Cheerleader” - I about jumped with joy…
I already gave up. I found myself watching on DVR and fast forwarding so much that I was barely watching anymore. I haven’t seen the last 4 episodes so don’t know (or care) what’s happening anymore. The acting has declined (Claire is painful to watch) and the storylines are silly and pointless. While I agree with all the comments that it takes a lot for me to drop a show - I passed that point awhile back.
It felt like a big tease, since at the end of the eclipse the big reset button was set. No change at all. It would have meant more if it at least meant that those who died without their powers stayed dead (Claire)
I guess I’m the only person in the world who doesn’t give a hoot about Kristen Bell and is glad to see her gone.
I’ve never watched the show but isn’t this typical of network TV? These days they take something so popular and find a way to screw it up. Usually it takes longer than this.
I think Sylar was just being Sylar. Remember, he was having trouble controlling her power when he just absorbed it from her. By doing it his way, he’ll have total control of it.
I was hoping Peter would regain his ability when the eclipse passed by, and maybe he did. The preview for next week seemed to suggest he was getting ready to use one of his powers. Maybe he can absorb the Haitian’s power and then go after his father.

I thought Peter would get his scar in the jungle, but that didn’t happen so now I’ve gotta watch next week to see when/how that happens.
I was struck by how little we know about the Haitian even though he’s an integral part of almost everyone else’s storyline. I’ll have to keep watching to see if they ever tell his story.
I doubt Elle’s dead or that Sylar’s evil again. If he did kill Elle it was to prove his evilness to his dad so he could infiltrate Pinehearst. I’ll have to keep watching to find out.
