Tell the truth: Did you like ‘Lie to Me’?
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
“Lie to Me,” Fox’s new drama about a human truth detector, struck me as an interesting enough procedural whose success or failure will depend entirely on whether viewers take to the star, Tim Roth. He doesn’t have the twinkly charm of Simon Baker on CBS’ hit “The Mentalist,” but Roth has plenty of IMDB.com cred (including “Pulp Fiction”). Did you watch “Lie to Me” — or record it while watching “Lost”? If so, I’d like to know what you thought.

We watched “Lost.” We already started watching “13 the fear is real” so taped it instead. “Lie to me” seems like a good concept, but we think it will get old really fast. There are plenty of good crime dramas on already. Speaking of which, how do you like “Ray Langston” on CSI?
We watched. Thought is was interesting, first shows always set people’s parts, along with the story so I’ll watch again. He seems to have a dour outlook but I suppose you would when you expect everyone to lie.
OK, let me start by saying I love Mr. Orange and I always have. Hes a stellar actor, and seems to be a decent person. HOWEVER, last nights show was ridiculous. There was no direction, no plot, no nothing but “hey, hes lyin” I was very disappointed.
How predictable and stale will this show get? “He’s lying”.
I watched it and really liked it. I have always been an amateur human lie detector and know about the micro-tells and certain gestures - I find it fascinating and am looking forward to learning more.
I thought it was odd. The acting was good, the script was weak and not well researched. From my personal experiences, Jehovah’s Witnesses aren’t like that at all. Actually, they could have done the episode without calling out a particular religion at all.
I’ll watch it again, but it’s on thin ice with me.
“Lie to Me” was fun, lots of depth/sub-plots already in view, be interesting to see if the “lie detection” gets old or if they can keep it fresh with good writing and interesting plots.
