Update: KTVI deems Osbournes not ready for prime time

I was, sadly, unable to tune into Fox’s preview of the “Osbournes: Reloaded” variety show after “American Idol” Tuesday night — and, turns out, you weren’t either. Thanks to the tip below (thanks, Ryan!), I was able to learn that KTVI (Channel 2) preempted the show “for content deemed inappropriate for prime time” and ran it at 12:05 a.m. All I’ve heard about the show is that it reached new depths for stupidity and contained many of the Osbourne trademark bleeped F-bombs. Can anybody who caught it post-midnight fill the rest of us in more?

Evidently, it was so bad, that KTVI didn’t even show it.

They showed a “Red Zone” Cardinals preseason special, which could have easily been shown at 6:30, but I guess they wanted that lucrative Idol audience to watch this, instead.

We’re preempting shows now? Another reason I hate living in the Midwest…

Is someone holding a gun to your head to force you to live here, kassa? I’m not defending the preemption. But your arrogance just hit me really hard and I had to respond. Why don’t you criticize the people who made the decision, not the region where you’re living against your will?

Why is it that when one person deems it “inappropriate” that we all have to abide by their ideaology. Not that I am a fan, but I am old enough to make my viewing decisions ON MY OWN. Don’t like it, change the channel. How many people watched some garbage redbird show? On a side note, why is it every channel has to put these local hacks on a show no one watches. I am a huge cards fan but I have yet to get any information from these people who just graduated from broadcast school.

I wonder when the geniuses at KTVI figured out that the Osbornes are rather inappropriate for prime-time viewing. Were they living under a rock when Ozzie and the gang were on tv before?

I didn’t see it but from the clips I saw I wouldn’t have watch it anyway. I suspect that Fox 2 realized the show was horrible and that many a tv sets would have been turned off or switched to another channel and therefore reduce the viewership leading into their 9 o’clock newscast. In this town run a Cardinal special and ratings soar.
By the way, is it my imagination or since Fox 2 moved to Maryland Heights have their technical problems gone through the roof? Reporters are constantly cut off in the field, the “tape” never seems to work etc. etc. etc.

This is so sad and stupid. Another example of the uneducated trying to protect the uneducated from nothing more than a church lady stare. This kind of moral protectionism only makes the show more popular. Sad and stupid, just like the posters in favor of this censorship.

I just couldn’t believe they took that off. Why let the advertising for it run if you’re not going to run it, or at least announce prior to 8:20 that you’re not. We had been waiting for this show for two weeks now. WHO stays up till midnight to watch a show that was supposed to be on at 8:20, and have a job? This was totally unacceptable in a popular poll here at work. Are they going to do this every week that it’s on for their season?
Totally unacceptable.
