‘Dancing With the Stars’: Ty’s turn to go?

Ty Murray dances

I have no idea why rodeo star Ty Murray is still on “Dancing With the Stars.” He had everything against him — his wife, Jewel, had to drop out before the season began; he’s not exactly a household name; his partner, Chelsie Hightower, is a newbie; and he can’t much dance. Maybe he’s improved a little. I’m no Carrie Ann Inaba, so I can’t really say. He clearly tries hard. But at this point in the competition, the others (Melissa Rycroft, Li’l Kim, Shawn Johnson and Gilles Marini) are vastly better.

I’m not really invested in any of the couples this season, and as I said, I’m no ballroom judge. But ask me to pick a winner right now and I’d rank them in this order: Melissa, Gilles, Shawn, Kim, Ty.  And I think Ty will be eliminated tonight.

You?

Gail are you reading MY blog? That’s exactly the same order I picked! Ty has won some people over because of his personality, in spite of his dancing skills. But, as you say, he can’t hold a candle to the others left, especially when you compare him to the other male left in the competition. His point total is 6 away from Lil Kim and I don’t think he’ll be able to get enough calls to negate that kind of gap.

Ty is still on because people like him. I’m no ballroom judge, either, and I’ve been voting for Ty since the beginning. He’s funny, humble, realistic, and very brave to get on the show in the first place, much less to have gone through all he has endured.

Maybe he will go home tonight, but I’ll be the sadder for it.

Frankly, Shawn may be a technically better dancer but she’s just too young and she really isn’t “bringing it” as far as emotion and really wanting it, in my opinion. She oould go and I wouldn’t miss her much at all.

Ty should have been gone last week! He screwed up big on the dance, and even got called out for it. Then the masses voted out Lil’Kim, who wasnt half bad. It must be like an “idol” ‘vote-for-the-worst’ sort of thing…
or else there’s alot of delusional cowboys out there thinking he’s a good dancer.
Seriously, its painful watching him (try to) dance.
