‘The Biggest Loser’: Mike or Ron?
The final weigh-ins on this seventh edition of “The Biggest Loser” left father and son Ron and Mike “below the yellow line,” meaning only one will compete in next week’s final. Voting is open for viewers to choose the third finalist, and even Ron wants you to vote for Mike. Lots of people seem to be holding a grudge against Ron, and by extension Mike, but clearly the kid needs to be in the final, if just to inspire more overweight teens to change their lives. (First up: his brother, Max.)
And speaking of inspirational: How about Helen? She ran a marathon! Finished in under 6 hours! And she’s 47! (Tara finished first, but of course she did. Mike, with an injured hip, and Ron, who is practically disabled, walked it all, but they finished too.)
Will you vote? Mike or Ron?

I voted for Mike. I know that’s what the puppetmaster Ron wanted me to do, but I’ve been rooting for Mike and Tara for a long time now.
IMHO, I think Mike should be in the final. Ron has been hampered with physical impairments (how did he get the doctor’s okay to be on the show anyway?)from the beginning and would not be a worthy opponent for Tara and Helen. This is the first season where I will be happy no matter who wins, although I do favor Tara, the workout animal.
Not Ron!! Mike really is inspirational - the youngest ever! - and either Helen or Tara could win and deserve every dollar of it. I’d be really really upset if Ron made it into the finals and beat Helen and Tara. That would be the worst possible scenario.
I’ve been watching the show for the last 5-6 weeks and I don’t see any “puppet master” stuff for Ron. All he is trying to do is get his son to the finals. Any parent would do the same.
Anyway, most of the weight Ron needs to lose at this point is the flabby skinn that no amount of dieting can remove. That has to be surgically removed. There’s got to be at least 50 pds of that on him. He’s got 3 tiers of moobs, not just a single big set, but 3 sets of large size going down his front. How does that happen?
I thought they were all inspirational in their own way running that marathon, but I have to give extra kudos to Ron. He should make any obese person realize they can get off their butt and lose weight too. He showed tenacity above and beyond. I see no puppetmaster, either. Of course he wants his kid in the final, and I think that’s who it will be. Mike can be a great role model for kids, and let’s hope he and Ron can get Max on the right track too. Maybe Max will be on the show next, who knows?
