‘Fringe,’ ‘The Office’ on DVD this week (Sept. 8)
“Fringe” started slowly on Fox last season, then gained steam (and followers) to become a compelling thrill ride. Those of us who’d already bailed by that time can catch up, in advance of the Sept. 17 Season 2 premiere, with the first-season box set, now out on DVD and Blu-ray. In the story, Anna Torv, Joshua Jackson and John Noble team up to investigate a series of mysterious events (”the pattern”) and conclude that someone is using Earth as a lab to experiment with everything from astral projection to reanimation. Oh, and there’s a cow. The DVD set includes looks at the real science of “Fringe,” a featurette on special effects and interviews with stars and producers, plus much more.
More TV new on DVD:
“Criminal Minds,” Season 4
“Harper’s Island: The DVD Edition”
“Important Things with Demetri Martin,” Season 1
“Mr. Belvedere,” Season 3
“The Office,” Season 5
“Parks and Recreation,” Season 1
“Worst Week,” complete series

Why invest any time watching these series during the regular season when you can just wait for the DVD release, ensuring that they don’t cancel the series mid-season on you.
