7 shows that should be on your radar this week (Nov. 30-Dec. 6)
November sweeps are over, Christmas is approaching and preemption season has already arrived. In addition to multiple changes to Tuesday night’s schedule making room for a presidential address (see more below), KMOV is preempting CBS at 7 p.m. Wednesday, bumping “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to late night. and wiping out the heavily promoted Grammy nominations concert. (See my later blog post for more on the Rudolph-Grammy saga.) On Friday, KDNL double-dips with the preemptions, eliminating “Ugly Betty.”
This is also a week for finales. “Sons of Anarchy” and “Sherri,” two shows that couldn’t be more different, wrap up their seasons at 9 p.m. Tuesday on FX and Lifetime, respectively. “Top Chef: Las Vegas” begins its season finale at 9 p.m. Wednesday on Bravo, concluding next week, and “Monk” bows out Friday on USA.
Here’s more.
“House,” 7 p.m. Monday on Fox
My favorite “House” character takes the spotlight as Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) treats an old friend (Joshua Malina of “The West Wing”) suffering from cancer.
Presidential address, 7 p.m. Tuesday on Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC and cable news channels.
On ABC, the speech bumps “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and the new animated special “Prep & Landing” to next Tuesday, Dec. 8.
On NBC, “The Biggest Loser” airs 8-10 p.m., preempting “The Jay Leno Show.” This is the first time NBC has bumped Leno.
CBS previously had an “NCIS” repeat scheduled at 7; it won’t air.
Fox will delay the start of a two-hour “So You Think You Can Dance” but air it in full (delaying Channel 2 news) immediately after the speech.
“Scrubs,” 8 and 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on ABC
The sitcom you thought ended its run last spring returns with a mostly new cast of medical students and only occasional appearances by some of the original regulars. Expect plenty of Turk (Donald Faison) and John C. McGinley (Cox), though.
“Glee,” 8 p.m. Wednesday on Fox
In the next-to-last episode before “Glee” takes a four-month break, the Schuster marriage is “shaken to the core” — and about time, I say.
“Launch My Line,” 10 p.m. Wednesday on Bravo
A new series pairs successful people who want to launch clothing lines with professionals who can help them out.
“Monk,” 8 p.m. Friday on USA
Monk (Tony Shalhoub) finally gets closure on his wife’s murder as the series ends its run after eight seasons and 125 episodes. Don’t say “canceled”; the decision to wrap up was reportedly mutual for network, studio, producers and Shalhoub himself.
‘The 12 Men of Christmas,” 8 p.m. Saturday on Lifetime
In a new romantic comedy, Kristin Chenoweth stars as a marketing executive hired to promote the town of Kalispell, Mont. How better than to create a calendar featuring all the town’s hunky men?

Another presidential address? What now? It better not be healthcare again. If he doesn’t address jobs this time… I am through with him.
Wake up, Chris C. It’s been heavily publicized that BHO’s address will be in regards to his sending 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. Though in his mind that may be 30,000 jobs “saved or created”.
FYI: According to the KMOV website, the Grammy Concert is still on, while Rudolph is being given the boot for Great Day St. Louis. Zap2It.com is reporting the same lineup Gail is (Rudolph still p/e’d for GDStL, running at 8p with no Grammy concert).
