ABC Family renews ‘Greek,’ ‘Lincoln Heights’
My nieces will be so excited to hear that ABC Family has ordered 20 more episodes of their favorite show, “Greek,” to begin airing this summer. “Lincoln Heights” was also picked up for summer, with 10 new episodes.
The cable network is so excited about its success with those shows and “Secret Life of the American Teenager” that it’s ordering three new series:
“Perfect 10″ is a drama with Peri Gilpin (Roz on “Frasier”) as the coach of a group of teen gymnasts with eyes on the Olympics.
“10 Things I Hate About You,” a comedy from director Gil Junger, who also directed the movie of the same name, is about two sisters who start at a new high school “with very contradictory goals.” One (Lindsey Shaw) is a social activist; the other (Meghan Jette Martin) is a social butterfly. Larry Miller plays the girls’ father, same as in the movie.
“Ruby and the Rockits,” another comedy, stars Patrick Cassidy as a former teen idol living a quiet life until his brother and former band mate, played by his real-life brother, David “Partridge Family” Cassidy, turns up. The show was created by yet another Cassidy brother, Shaun, whose producing credits include “Invasion.” The young cast includes Alexa Vega (”Spy Kids”) and Austin Butler (”Zoey 101″).

Looking forward to the show with the Cassidy brothers.
Of course, I’m a fan from the old days, but I think it’ll be fun.
David still looks good today.
And Greek is a good example of what ABC Family has done well since I enjoy it immensely despite the fact that I’m a little old for its target demographic.
