Update: ‘Clean House’ yard sale Saturday, and you’re invited
I was out with the folks from the Style network series “Clean House” today, doing some interviews about a house in south St. Louis that is a runner-up for “Messiest House in America.” “Clean House” is the show with Niecy Nash (her trademark is a flower behind her ear) as host; Niecy spent a lot of her childhood in St. Louis with her grandmother, so this is a homecoming for her. (First thing she did when she got here, after calling her grandmother? She had both toasted ravioli and Imo’s pizza.)
The drill on “Clean House” is that they get the homeowners to get rid of a lot of stuff, and they sell it at a yard sale to raise money for the rehab. February isn’t peak yard sale season in St. Louis, but this one is set for Saturday, from 10-2, and you’re invited. Instead of being at the home, it’s inside at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 4091 Mount Olive, 63125. That’s at Mount Olive and Avenue H; If you take I-55 south to Bayless, Avenue H is right there and has a signal.
They’ve had huge crowds in other cities, even Baltimore in winter, I’m told. Who knows what the scene will be like here, though. I do know that in addition to buying stuff, you have a chance to meet the team (including Trish Suhr, the “yard sale diva,” and Mark Brunetz, the “design guru.” Matt Iseman, the “go-to guy,” doesn’t travel with the show because of other commitments).

Oooh, Miss Niecy, what about me?!?
