ABC will drop ‘Life on Mars’
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Joe Adalian at TV Week is reporting exclusively that ABC won’t order additional episodes of “Life on Mars” beyond this season’s 17. The news comes in time for producers to craft a series finale, which will probably air in April. So — bad news and good news, I guess.

You have GOT to be kidding me.
I tried watching “Life on Mars”, I really did. But there was something about it. There were times I felt the writing and acting were stilted and some were just “phoning it in”.
Ah, well. “Breaking Bad” is back on Sunday and I can re-watch “True Blood”.
I am also watching season 1 of True Blood over again until season 2 starts up again in the summer and reading the latest True blood news at http://truebloodnet.com.
This is a problem when you adapt foreign dramas to American networks. The show would have gone much better if they had just imported the British version as is. It would probably have been cheaper, too!
I agree with RussWeiss. I tried hard to like this show. These are actors I love to watch in other shows but I just found hard to watch here. I just couldn’t get into it.
I saw the original version of the pilot for this show before it aired. Was highly disappointed as I had already seen the whole British run. At leat for fans of the British “Life on Mars” there’s always the sequal series “Ashes to Ashes” coming out here soon.
Wasn’t the original British show just 16 episodes? And it had a resolution of the time warp thing?
