But “Earl” could still be saved as the studio shops it around to Fox (which had reportedly expressed interest) and ABC. And “Medium,” which didn’t make NBC’s just-announced schedule either, could be snapped up by CBS.

NBC renewed ”Chuck” (see the previous Tube Talk entry) and “Law & Order” – a 20th season for “L&O” that will tie it with “Gunsmoke” for longest-running drama series.

NBC boasted that its 2009-2010 schedule features more original programming than ever before, despite “The Jay Leno Show” airing at 9 p.m. weeknights. Some shows will share time periods, with “Heroes” at 7 p.m. Mondays before the Winter Olympics and “Chuck” taking over afterward.

NBC previously announced its series pickups, but didn’t finalize the lineup until today.

Here is NBC’s fall schedule, with new shows in all-caps:

No “Kath & Kim?” I’m being serious…
At least they kept “Southland” and “Parks & Recreation.”
All the Leno seems quite the snooze!

Earl was jumping the shark last season but made up for in this past one. I am sorry to see it go.

Parks & Rec needs work. The supporting characters are the most interesting part of the show. I can’t believe I’m saying this but The Office has really fallen off. The 2nd part of this season really disappointed me and the season finale was one of the worst finales ever. I heard they cut it down from 1 hr to 30 mins and it showed. I hope they turn it around.

Law and Order and Southland on Friday? They should put Biggest Loser on Friday and put Law and Order and Southland on Tuesday. Friday night is a better night for a reality show than a drama.

9:00 time used to be really good on NBC. I cant see the content of Law and Order being aired at 7 pm without them having to change the intensity of the show. If NBC was going to let Leno go form the 10:30 slot they should have just let him go. It was their mistake to do this and now tv viewing is going to suffer along with the great shows that were on at 9:00 and now they are being shuffled around to times that wont deem their success.

Then NBC will cancel Law and Order and Southland because its intended audience usually isnt home on a Friday night.

NBC just lost me on Thursdays, completely. Earl was the only thing I watched. I’m probably one of the few people here to say this, but I find Kath & Kim to be completely mindless drivel, and Amy Poehler gets on me LAST NERVE. The last thing I want to watch is Weekend Update on Thursdays. IMHO…that was a stupid idea. But that’s just me. Jay Leno needs to hang it up…he’s ruining NBC.

I still can’t believe that NBC has axed 33% of its weekday prime time for
Leno. Nothing remotely edgy will come between 7 & 9. Creative shows like an ‘NYPD Blue’ or ‘Boomtown’ won’t stand a chance in those slots. NBC has waved the white flag to cable.

I find Parks and Recreation boring and very unfunny. Earl had a good run, but it still was funnier than P & R.

That is one PATHETIC lineup! Not a single show in the lot worth watching.

The headline said “Earl Got Axed”. What did they ax him?
