New date for Emmys: Sept. 20

The Emmys have moved again. After CBS announced a date of Sept. 13, MTV pointed out that the “Video Music Awards” were already scheduled that day, with venue and sponsorships in place. “We had the flexibility to move; they didn’t,” CBS’ Jack Sussman said Thursday in announcing the change. Thanks, MTV said. The Emmys were on Sept. 20 until CBS moved them to avoid a football double-header. So — never mind.
