Sept. 14 debut for ‘Jay Leno Show’
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The day after the premiere of “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien,” NBC announces that “The Jay Leno Show” will debut Sept. 14, airing at 9 p.m. weeknights. A welcome addition to prime time, or the end of network television as we know it? A guaranteed hit or a ratings disaster in the making? Only time, as they say, will tell.

Can’t wait! I already miss Jay, although Conan was pretty funny last night. His humor will have to grow on people because he is pretty goofy. But anyone is better than that bitter old man, Letterman. I think he has been in NYC for too long.
America, are you ready to not laugh again??
Oh man, I can wait!
What a shame Leno leaving Conan is awful…
Like the wide variety of daytime talk, I will make it a point to tune in to Leno if I like the guest. Otherwise, it will be my default 9:00 watching if nothing else I like is on. Since I am more of a comedy fan than drama, I will probably watch Leno 3-4 nights of the week.
In addition, this would be a show I would watch live vs DVR. Talk shows kind of lose their humor if left sitting a day or two. Also, its the perfect type of show to watch and do other things (like read the mail, flip through a magazine, twitter…)
September 14 the day they get rid of good drama tv at 9. I am sure actors are really liking this. NBC should have let Jay go to another network instead of messing up the schedule. I willl be searching for a good drama at 9.
NBC might stand for no brilliant channel selection at 9.
TV Viewer,
I’m sorry to hear your television only gets NBC/Channel 5.
Dramas are expensive. Don’t think NBC would have replaced an open hour each night with a drama, but more likely reality televison–also cheap to produce.
