Will Randy and Earl be saved?

Will Randy and Earl be saved?

Buzz today is that cable’s TBS is in talks to pick up 13 episodes of “My Name Is Earl” – canceled by NBC — for fall. But the Hollywood Reporter cautions that a deal isn’t certain and that producing “Earl” as we knew it would be very expensive for basic cable. Would you still like a low-budget “Earl” with, say, a laugh track?

I loved that show. Its a shame that they are dropping it.

What’s with NBC? Getting rid of Earl and Project Runway (after their battle with Bravo). I thought that network liked making money…

My Name is Earl is a great show with good writing and a lot of cleverness despite the main characters being both being doofus. The circularity of the story lines always has me amused. I hate to see it go.

Why would “Earl” be more expensive for basic cable over network television?

I’m confused about the cost being a problem as well. The format is much like the one used by “My Boys” on TBS, which apparently isn’t too expensive for TBS to produce and air. Any follow up to this point?

I just sent an email to TBS requesting they pick up the show. Can’t hurt to do it if you are a fan as well. Let’s do our best to save Earl.

Maybe Subway can do an ad campaign to save Earl, like they did for Chuck. (Earl of Sandwich, anyone?0
