Mischa Barton was at work in New York Tuesday, shooting the new CW modeling drama “The Beautiful Life,” executive producer Ashton Kutcher said Tuesday when he and “TBL” cast members met with TV critics.

Barton was hospitalized July 15 on what was described as an “involuntary psychiatric hold” in Los Angeles. Reports followed that her role in the series was being recast.

Not so, Kutcher said. Barton will be “very prominent. She’s one of our lead players.” What’s more, “She was never unavailable for a day of work.”

CW Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff, also quizzed about Barton, said:

“We were just concerned that she would be able to be ready for production. She was. Not even an
issue…. We’re happy that she’s better. What went on in her personal life is a personal matter.”

Oh, and about “The Beautiful Life” — the full title is “The Beautiful Life: TBL.” Just in case viewers couldn’t construct their own shorthand acronym.

Gail Pennington is attending the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour in Los Angeles.
