‘Regis and Kelly’ moves to KPLR (Channel 11)
Same time; different channel. As of today, “Live With Regis and Kelly” takes up residence at 9 a.m. weekdays on KPLR (Channel 11), giving Regis Philbin a new address after more than two decades on KMOV (Channel 4).

In fact, Philbin’s history with KMOV goes back farther than 1988, when “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee” entered national syndication. From 1972-75, he flew into town most weekends for “Saturday Night in St. Louis,” a variety show dreamed up by his old friend Tom Battista, general manager of what was then KMOX-TV.
As of this fall, though, KMOV dropped “Regis and Kelly” in favor of a move from “The Doctors” from late night. (Infomercials are currently filling the 9 a.m. slot.) Luckily for fans, KPLR snapped up “R&K” and scheduled it at 9 a.m., as always. The move comes at a good time, with a week of reruns giving fans time to track the show down without missing any fresh Host Chat.
Since it is filmed at WABC, Distributed by Buena Vista and owned by Disney, wouldn’t a better fit be on channel 30?
Couldn’t KMOV fill Regis Lee and Kelly Lee’s old time slot with “The Doctors”? Although KMOV airs it at 1:00 AM, it airs in most markets during the day.
Iam glad that they switched to 11 now during the so-called weather updates (KENT “THE MOUTH” ‘AIR’HART is always just busting in to blab about the radar for 15-20mins and rehash what he said over and over then returning to regular programming for 5min before breaking in again.) The other channels try to breakin around a commerical or run in the crawl.
