Julie Chen has a baby boy
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
It’s a wee Chenbot. A Chen-tot. A little Les. Make your own plays on words, but the news is that Julie Chen of “The Early Show” and “Big Brother” and her husband, CBS boss Les Moonves, are the parents of a son, born today. When I talked to Chen last month in Los Angeles, she told me they’d announced that the baby was a boy, though I couldn’t get the name out of her. But hey, I approve. Here’s the release from CBS:
This is to announce that this morning Charlie Moonves — son of CBS Corporation President and CEO Leslie Moonves and his wife, Early Show/ Big Brother host Julie Chen — was born in Los Angeles at 9:40 a.m. Mother and child are doing well.

Would Julie Chen be on the air if her husband wasn’t CBS boss Les Moonves?
Yes, she would. I worked with Julie Chen many years ago in a medium-sized TV market and she was the same hard-working, intelligent and kind-hearted person that she is today. Even then, we all knew she would go far. Sad to see that no matter how hard a woman works in this world, people still try to define her by the man she married. After all, would you be asking the same snarky question if Moonves were the on-air talent and Chen was the executive? Of course not.
Julie has no personality and it a horrible host of Big Brother. Maybe she will do us all a favor and be a stay at home mom.
