Sweet! ‘Top Chef’ will spin off all-dessert edition
Desserts have always been tough for “Top Chef” competitors, as witnessed during last week’s “Restaurant Wars” episode, when one team (call them The Losers) threw in the towel without even offering a sweet finish. So what’s Bravo doing? Spinning off the cooking competition into “Top Chef: Just Desserts,” which will feature pastry chefs only.
Open-casting calls are today in Chicago (talk about late notice; the announcement arrived at 10:20 a.m., when casting had already been underway since the top of the hour); Nov. 4 in Washington, D.C., and Boston; Nov. 8 in Atlanta and New York; Nov. 11 in Dallas and Las Vegas; and Nov. 15 in Los Angeles and Portland, Ore. Since I have never seen an episode of Top Chef, I would like to offer my impartiality to the judging table. (Is there a link to that application)
