Fox cancels ‘Prison Break’
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
I liked this show out of all proportion to how good it was, but the time has come (maybe a season late) to end it. Fox agrees and announced today that the final episodes will begin airing April 17. “The greatest escape yet” is promised.

I’m thinking good riddance. After a great first season it began to fall to pieces.
Didn’t a lead female character on this show lose her head, literally, only to come back the next season?
Sounds like something from “Passions” to me.
Well, it wasn’t the same show after the first season, and they tried to “right” the wrong that they did when they killed off one of the best charactors on the show - there’s a few of us who will miss it. Thank goodness that the DVD’s are available.
As a huge fan of Prison Break, I am saddened to hear this! While the newer seasons may not be as good as season one - I am certain that there are many far worse shows on television! Why a good show like this can’t stay on is a mystery to me…maybe Fox will replace it with another reality show. God knows we need more of those!
Good, now I can just watch the final few episodes and not have to decide whether I want to stop recording (because it has slipped) or stick with it to see what happens.
How did it last this long? It was one of my “have to watch because it’s so bad shows”. As crazy as it was the plot wasn’t the lamest thing about it. The whole thing seemed like they based their research on prison by watching bad prison movies….then made it worse. It’s quite crazy how quickly some shows get dumped that are a million times better. Eh, but that’s the way it goes.
We enjoyed it, but it is getting a little ‘long in the tooth’. I wonder if the replacement will be half as good, though.
Sad to see it go, I havn’t been able to watch more than the 1st couple of episodes this season, more due to kids than lack of interest. I will admit it has not been the same since the fist season, but it was still enjoyable. However, I did ask at the end of every season, “Now how do they plan to stretch this out for another season.” As for the beheaded main character. If I learned anything from the soap operas my wife watches, unless you saw the killing and the dead corpe being put in the ground, don’t count the character out(even that is not enough sometimes, see evil twin plot twists). They just quickly flashed a head in a box. As soon as it happened, I told my wife, “bet that wasn’t her head. we’ll see her again in the future.
My disdain for Prison Break is based exclusively on the fact that it replaced Arrested Development. I’m so ecstatic that it’s been canned that I’m going to throw an Arrested Development party to honor the cancellation.
Now, let’s see what kind of reality show/ sitcom/ poorly researched implausible drama nonsense the network replaces it with to numb everyone’s mind.
I really liked Prison Break when it first came out. I liked the first 3 seasons but after that it suffered greatly. I even quit watching this year because I just could not take it.
The actors who play TBag and Malone are great. I hope they can find something else after this.
