I’m having a hard time figuring out some key things about this video:

• When was it filmed? My first guess was the 1980s, but their hairdos don’t correspond. (Maybe they were just ahead of their time.) The music definitely is ’80s, though.
• Why did the scenic designer decide to make these people sing and dance in a Bavarian village?
• Speaking of dancing: Why? And why in those mother-of-the-bride dresses?
• Why does the guy have a headset mic, but the girls have handheld mics?

When you’re performing a cutting-edge task like delivering balloons, professionalism is of supreme importance. (Eyebrow maintenance, however, is not.)

This is some scary stuff.

Back in the day, I was easily fooled into believing Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari were ladies. But now that I am older and wiser, I realize those two were the worst drag queens ever. And did those wigs and frumpy frocks really render them unrecognizable to their friends? I’m not buying it.

It’s all very “Hannah Montana,” if you ask me.
