‘Web Site Story’: a modern tale of romance

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

To paraphrase my colleague Judy Newmark: They can make a musical about anything. And they usually do.

I love this parody of “West Side Story,” which tells the tale of courtship in the age of the Interwebs. From the brains at College Humor, here’s “Web Site Story.”

(Take this opportunity to turn off your cell phones and to unwrap your candies. And the taking of photographs is strictly prohibited by Actors’ Equity.)

Thanks to my colleague Erica Smith for sharing this.

Happy 445th birthday, Will Shakespeare

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Thursday is the Bard’s 445th birthday. And if he were here, he almost certainly would not approve of this JibJab interpretation of “Romeo and Juliet” in the style of LOLCATS.

It’s also Talk Like Shakespeare Day in the windy city, writes my colleague Judy Newmark over in the Culture Club blog.

Scenes from ‘Saint Joan’ at The Rep

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

We saw The Rep’s production of “Saint Joan” on Friday at the Loretto-Hilton Center in Webster Groves. It’s a wonderful show — a bit longer than most, but you’ll be engaged.
