Overload on “Meet Me in St. Louis” headlines

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Cruising through the blogosphere I ran across this post yesterday from the “In the Middle” blog. It was a brief reminder to fans/colleagues about the “34th Annual Meeting: Southeastern Medieval Association” at St. Louis University.

And then there was this one a few hours earlier on the “Inspired Images Blog” about a photo shoot in our town.

The headlines on both posts, of course, included “Meet Me in St. Louis.”

It just got me wondering how often that phrase shows up. It is, of course, from the 1944 movie of the same name.

I used it myself in an earlier post here about the UK band “Meet Me In St. Louis” that broke up recently. A Google blog search of the phrase brought up nearly 1,500 hits — and those were just from the past month. That includes a number of other blog hits on the UK band.

By the way, you can practically watch the whole movie for free if you search for that phrase on YouTube. There’s a ton of clips from the movie there.
