Dave Bundy has been named publisher of the Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis.
Kevin Mowbray, Lee Enterprises vice president for publishing and president and publisher of the St Louis Post-Dispatch, made the announcement today.
“Dave knows the Journals, the people and the products well,” Mowbray said in a news release. “He’s been very involved in many of the key projects the Journals have undertaken, both inside and outside of the newsroom, during his tenure."
Bundy has served as editorial director at the Journals, overseeing the news operations for 3½ years. Before moving to St. Louis, he was editor of The Bismarck Tribune in Bismarck, N.D. He has more than 20 years of newspaper experience at newspapers across the Midwest. For the last four months, Bundy has served as interim publisher of the Journals.
“The breadth of our products gives us enormous reach, and the number of products allows us to deliver focused content for readers and a targeted audience for advertisers,” Bundy said. “And we’ve got projects and innovations coming that will only enhance our abilities.”
The Suburban Journals operation encompasses the Journals’ publications and website along with a variety of niche media products, including the Ladue News, Feast, St. Louis’ Best Bridal magazine and stlhighschoolsports.com.
The Suburban Journals, along with the Post-Dispatch, are owned by Lee Enterprises. Lee publishes 53 daily newspapers and websites and 300 weekly and specialty publications in 23 states.-
