Cannon Design, an architecture firm based in St. Louis, won a 2010 International Architecture Award for its work in remodeling and renovating the old Municipal Power House building in downtown St. Louis.

The building, erected in 1928 at Clark Avenue and 11th Street, was vacant for nearly 30 years until being renovated two years ago. It now houses the regional offices of Cannon Design.

Cannon used its own design and construction management teams to restore the building. Cannon spent about $8.75 million on the 31,000-square-foot building and restored the exterior to its original look, with the same terra-cotta detailing and 25-feet-high arched windows on two facades.
