Charter Communications has named Kevin Howard interim chief financial officer, effective Aug. 1.
Howard will continue in his roles as senior vice president and chief accounting officer at Charter during the company's ongoing CFO search, chief executive and president Mike Lovett said today in a news release. Howard joined Charter in 2002 and was formerly an auditor at Arthur Anderson.
St. Louis County-based Charter, which exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2009, has had major changes in its leadership this year. Lovett replaced former CEO Neil Smit in February. Charter announced in February that CFO Eloise Schmitz would leave the company when her contract expired in July.
The cable company also announced today the appointment of Craig Jacobson to its board of directors. Jacobson is a founding partner at the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based law firm Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren & Richman LLP.
