Want to buy a St. Louis landmark?

Now's your chance.

It appears that the Admiral Riverboat, which has sat empty on the downtown waterfront since June, will be sold at auction on Wed. Nov. 10.

The aging Art Deco boat is being advertised "as is with existing contents" on the website of a local auctioneer, with details of a sale set for next Wednesday at 2. It's also up on eBay, with a suggested price of $1.5 million.

The price is just that, a suggestion, said auctioneer Virgil Straeter. There's no minimum price. Official bids will be taken online until next Wednesday at noon, with a 2 p.m. auction for registered bidders to follow on the boat itself.

Pinnacle Entertainment, which operated the President Casino on the boat until June, sold it last week to a company called St. Louis Marine, according to spokesman Mack Bradley. No price was disclosed.

Straeter said its new owners hoped a buyer would keep the Admiral in one piece.

"But we don't know," he said. "This is open to all comers."
