Owners of the successful 1111 Mississippi, Vin de Set and PW Pizza restaurants in Lafayette Square have more neighbhorhood projects in mind.
For now, the only thing in the works is a Chouteau Avenue parking lot now used mainly by restaurant employees. But Paul Hamilton, who owns the restaurants with his wife Wendy, says the long-range plan for the site could include development of offices, stores and maybe even some residences.
Hamilton says no definite plan has been worked out. And there's no development timetable. He adds that among the projects considered is a banquet center on part of what is now the parking lot at 2118 Chouteau.
First up is establishment of a transportation development district for the parking lot and the Vin de Set site on Chouteau. Such a district would be allowed to impose sales taxes to help fund improvements. A hearing on whether to establish the district is scheduled for Feb. 28 in St. Louis Circuit Court.
