Fresh off a foreclosure, the Crowne Plaza hotel near Lambert-St. Louis International Airport will undergo a $10 million renovation, its general manager says.
Work on guest rooms and public areas will begin in April, Mikki O'Brien, the general manager, says in a news release. The 351-room hotel, on Interstate 70 at Lindbergh Boulevard, opened in 1990 as a Radisson hotel. The eight-story building is notable for its sharp-angled design.
Crescent Hotels & Resorts, of Fairfax, Va., has managed the hotel since July. It was a property of Columbia Sussex Corp., of Crestview Hills, Ky., until a foreclosure Tuesday by CW Capital, which handled the matter for investors.
The hotel remained open throughout the process. Crescent says all of the Crowne Plaza's rooms will get new furniture, flat-screen televisions and redone bathrooms. The hotel is among approximately 65 hotels and resorts Crescent owns or operates in 22 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.
