March 2007 • Steffen's MB Lofts is approved for $1.4 million in Brownfield Remediation Tax Credits.

May 2007 • Business Bank of St. Louis lends MB Lofts $1.1 million, using the credits as collateral.

December 2007 • Steffen sells $827,415 worth of credits for cash to fund other projects, without telling Business Bank, prosecutors say.

April 2008 • Steffen's Pyramid Construction folds. Business Bank and other investors and lenders file suit.

January 2009 • Business Bank lawsuit settled for $775,000.

May 2010 • The last of Pyramid's properties are transferred to new owners.

August 2010 • U.S. Attorney's Office charges Steffen with bank fraud.
