literate: As part of the detour process, when exiting Forest Park on Wells Drive to Skinker, there are two clearly marked signs for no left turn. Yet seemingly illiterate drivers regularly wait for a break in both traffic directions to make a left turn, which holds up traffic behind them for those who could be making the legal right turn. Perhaps some additional signage or enforcement is needed. I'd suggest a giant flashing sign "No Left Turn You Moron".
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: I like that idea. I've suggested signs like that before, but they won't let me do it. Actually those drivers know they aren't supposed to be turning left there, but they are doing it anyway. I'm afraid another sign wouldn't do any good. This has been brought to the attention of the St Louis PD, as it is really an enforcement issue. I'm sure a few tickets would reduce the number of left turns you see there.

jakey: I have been avoiding Delmar as an alternate route to Highway 40 because of the bottleneck near the Metro station. I recall that it was supposed to be cleared in April; is that still the case?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: yes. My understanding is the City is scheduled to complete its bridge work on Delmar by the end of the month.

cj: I will try this again, I was not asking if the entire north connector/distributor could be reopened with Hanley. I was asking if the section that goes from Hanely to 170 could be re-opened that way traffic going north on Hanley would not have to weave behind the Meridian and then on to Eager and then 170. This section does not even come close to the concrete plant, it goes from Hanley then merges into the northbound 170 traffic coming from Eager, at least according to yours plans posted on the internet.
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: But to get to the piece you want to use to go from Hanley to northbound I-170 we would have to build most of the collector distributor road. We aren't going to build half of it now, then come back at the end of the job and build the other half. Sorry, but that piece won't be built until the fall.

Tony: Hello and thank you for doing these chats.

I know this may be hard to judge, but how is the overall progress with the 2nd half of the project coming along? Including the 2 weeks in December, do you feel that you are more than 33% completed (since you have had a full 4 months to work)?

As a daily forest park parkway driver I am looking forward to new I64!
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: We're on schedule. We still have a lot of work to do and the weather could turn against us again, like it did last year. But for now things are going well, and if the good weather like we have today continues we'll make the deadline for sure.

gregl: Hi Linda... you wanted me to post a follow-up regarding my question about signal timing on Gravois between Grand and Pennsylvania/Arsenal. Did you find anything out?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: Thanks for the note back. I asked one of our traffic engineers about it. She said Gravois at Grand is currently under construction along with the signals at Jefferson and Loughborough. Utility work permitted by the City has also been happening on Gravois with lane closures during the past couple of weeks which make the road and the signals not work as well together.
She also mentioned that most of the side streets at the signals do not have vehicle detection, which means we have to let the lights cycle some green time for the side street whether a car is there or not. It's just old equipment. It makes it more difficult to have good progression on Gravois. She said they hadn't made any recent changes to the cycling, lefts first or lefts last. She is going to do more reviews on the timing plans and see if she can improve the situation more.
Let us know what else you are seeing out there. The more details you provide us, the better we can troubleshoot the signals.
