Joshua: The statement for June on the official website states: "At Brentwood Boulevard, the I-64 bridge deck has been poured, while the deck for the south I-170 to west I-64 ramp will be poured in mid-June. Girders for the east-to-north flyover ramp have been set as well, and bridge decking has begun. The old I-170 ramp crossing Brentwood is scheduled for demolition over the weekend of June 20." The girders have not yet been set for the south I-170 to west I-64 ramp, and there is no I-170 ramp crossing Brentwood. Can you clarify the current state of construction in this spot? Does the old I-170 ramp refer to the old westbound I-64 bridge?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: The crossing that remains over Brentwood is what used to be the ramp for southbound I-170 to westbound I-64 and for westbound I-64 to exit at Brentwood Boulevard. We took down the I-64 mainline bridges in January. Now that we have the new mainline bridge poured we will use that to cross over Brentwood and can remove the old ramp. As for the south to west ramp, the girders have been set for part of it east of Brentwood. The remaining girders will be set once we take down the old I-170/Brentwood exit ramp.

chris jones: Once again thanks for your service. Just a comment that I and many others with whom I talk, we would like to see more photos. Besides the webpage are there any other public sites?

Thanks
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: There aren't any other photo sites that I'm aware of. I'll have some more photos posted by the end of the week though.

Greg: Just Curious, Lets say the Hwy 40 section that is being worked on now is completed in November. Will the work on the other section start early or will it have to wait until January?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: We would like to start immediately on the east half if we manage to finish early on the west half. We should have a better idea of whether that will be possible sometime in September. Until then, there is a lot of work left to do on the west half and it keeps on raining, so who knows? But the short answer is yes, we would like to roll right into the east half construction.

Allen: Driving west on I55/64/70 across the Poplar Street Bridge, traffic in the second lane from the right, which eventually exits to I44/55 south, is often at a standstill because of the sharp turn on the exit ramp. This causes a slowdown in all other lanes as people jockey to get through, into or out of that lane. Why doesn't the proposed new I70 bridge include a southbound exit onto I70, which would surely alleviate much of the congestion on the PSB since people could use it to access I44/55 south?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: One of the basic ideas behind the new Mississippi River bridge is to take I-70 off the Poplar Street Bridge so that bridge can be eventually rebuilt. Eventually we will elmininate the ramps from Poplar Street to and from I-70 and we will be able to rebuild the ramps to and from I-44 and I-55. Traffic on I-70 will use the new northern bridge. Traffic for I-64, I-44 and I-55 will use the Poplar Street. The new bridge will also have ramps coming off the bridge into downtown city streets to take the traffic into the downtown core area. Eventually, we also have plans to have ramps to go from the new bridge to the depressed section, but the currently funded project will not build that ramp.

Rich: My question is that since u r working on a bunch of bridges between kingshiway and 170. Do u think that will help u complete the second half of the progect earleir.
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: It's hard to say at this point, since we aren't even finished with the west half yet. But there are $4 million in incentives on the line to encourage us to finish each half on time or early. We intend to do everything we can to earn all of it.
