Ken Cohen: I don't understand how there is not going to be significant back-up at Brentwood or wherever the highway goes back to 3 lanes again, when the highway opens up next year. I know you have straightened out some curves, hills, etc. but without adding more lanes east of Brentwood, do you really think that the main problem areas such as McCausland through Kingshighway are going to be better when all is opened again?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: The traffic volumes east of I-170 are 30-40,000 vehicles less than west of I-170. We are also adding extra exit only lanes before interchanges and longer on and off ramps. All of these items will help the traffic flow issues that we used to have on I-64.

buran: Thanks for fixing Mcknight. Looks great! I noticed that the lane barriers stopping traffic from last-minute merging into the to-170 lane on Brentwood Blvd. have come down months ago. However, I still see lane barriers blocking some left turns on Brentwood just south of White Ave.
If turning left here on Brentwood is so dangerous, then why are there businesses located in that area that have been reachable by left turn for so long? What makes them suddenly unsafe? Why are these businesses singled out so that you have to live even farther south to get to them, or go way out of your way? It looks like there are about ten businesses that are being affected by this. With so many economical problems hitting small business as hard as they are, we shouldn't be erecting literal barriers to small business but taking them down.
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: Brentwood blvd is the responsibility of St. Louis County. You would need to ask them directly about Brentwood Blvd. In general, traffic engineers, MoDOT or County, try to work with new businesses and developments to limit access close to major intersections. It can really mess with traffic flow on the major street when motorists are trying to make left turns out of businesses too close to a signalized intersection.

Frank: When all of the construction is complete what will happen to the property south of I-64 between Brentwood and McCutcheon?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: MoDOT's lot on the southside of Eager will be cleared and then put up for sale for redevelpment.
Linda Wilson
Mark: It's neat seeing the army of workers and equipment on Hanley in the last week. Any idea when we can expect an announcement for the opening of the overpass?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: Hanley bridge over I-64 will be reopening by early August. Don't have an exact date yet. We hope to announce the exact date early next week.
Linda Wilson
Joshua: As construction at Halney continues apace, do you have an estimated opening date?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: The Hanley bridge will be opening in early August. We will announce an exact date early next week.
