MREJ: Thank you, thank you, thank you for getting Hanley open not on time, but a MONTH ahead of schedule. People on here will complain about anything (the color of the sound walls, for crying out loud), but you guys are doing a tremendous job. My workday will be so much easier with Hanley reopened. If you see a skinny guy doing cartwheels down the new sidewalk on Friday, it's definitely me. THANK YOU.
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: You are very welcome. We are excited to be able to have this open a month early. You can plan on taking it for your drive home Friday night. Thanks for your patience while we have been working and enjoy the new bridge.

Don1: There is an electronic message board on I-55 southbound at mile marker 205.8 in the city that was installed next to several trees. There are branches that is partially blocking the view of the board. Can these branches be cut back? And once it's cut back will it be kept cut back?
Why was the board installed next to trees? Had this electronic message board been installed just perhaps 50 feet south of where it is, there is a clearing with no trees.
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: I will ask our maintenance crews to check on the tree branches. We do trim branches along the highway that block any of our signs whether they are the electronic boards or our regular road signs.
I don't know exactly why the sign was placed where it is not 50 feet further. The engineers do consider many factors in deciding where to place the sign. Most importantly is the sight distance for the drivers so we have to watch for curves or hills on the highway. Another important factor is finding a space where MoDOT owns enough land to build the sign and the land is easy to get to for our crews to service the sign as needed.

Bill: When are they going to put the bridge girders up at Big Bend?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: That is scheduled for the middle of next week.
Dan
Ryan: I'm glad to hear that Hanley will be opening Friday. Do you all know if Richmond Heights will be lifting the traffic restrictions on the neighborhood streets on Friday as well?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: It is my understanding that Richmond Heights plan to remove the one way street restrictions after Hanley opens. I do not know their exact timing, so please pay attention and obey any signs that you see giving directions on these streets.
Linda Wilson
Kurits Jr: First, thanks to everyone involved for reopening Hanley a month early! A tremendous accomplishment and another milestone reached ahead of schedule!
Care to comment on the rumor going around that all I64 drivers may have something extra to be thankful for on Thanksgiving?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: It is too soon to speculate on the early completion of the lanes of I-64. We are on schedule to be open by December 31. We still have a tremendous amount of work to do and the rainy fall weather season ahead of us. We will make an announcement of the date as soon as we can, but I don't expect that announcement to come until later this fall.
