cnoel: Dan & Linda,
I use McCausland regularly so the lane restrictions will impact me but I'm very happy to see there will be all new pavement for the under the bridge and intersections. They are currently breaking and hauling away the old concrete. Does this debris all get crushed and reused as a base under newly laid pavement? Does any of it get used in the production of new concrete?
Thanks, especially for keeping us all informed; keep up the good work.
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: All that rubble will be crushed and reused as roadbase or other fill material. We don't use it to make new concrete though. Clean aggregate is used for that.

Janet Karlen: Any plans for major stop signs on east/west Dale Avenue at it's intersection with Claytonia? When using the Wise to Claytonia to Dale detour from Big Bend, a left turn at the Dale/Claytonia intersection to return to Big Bend can be tricky. Thanks!
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: These are all city of Richmond Heights streets. I am not aware of any plans by the city to add stop signs.

stlroger: The stripping at the McKnight overpass was done a couple of weeks ago. Now, when northbound on McKnight after the stop at York, the stripping makes it appear that all traffic must narrow down to one lane before opening up again to two lanes, one for straight thru traffic and one to turn left onto I-64. So, going forward from the stop sign and setting up to be in the I-64 turn lane, one must cross the solid yellow line to get into the correct lane. Do you know why was the stripping done in this manner?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: There is only one lane in each direction on McKnight. When you get on the bridge there is an extra lane for making left turns. so when you are at the stop sign on York Drive on Northbound McKnight, there is only one lane in front of you. Just north of that, the left turn lane does appear. I'm not sure about why it is not straight in front of you. I can look at that, but there is only one lane striped because it is only one lane wide. We have been having problems with people trying to take two lanes and go straight across the bridge. I can only assume the slight curve to the striping was to make that point that it is only one lane and if you want to make a left you will then move over to the left lane.

Kurtis Jr: Hello,
Over the weekend I noticed there was a large section of the I64/I170 ramp covered by plastic. What sort of work is going on there? Rework?
Thanks!
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: What you saw there was our painting subcontractor painting the bridge girders. The plastic was to keep overspray from painting cars as well.

DH: I was wondering, now that traffic has been directed from Eager onto Meridian to take traffic around the south side of the Meridian office and retail complex to Hanley Road temporarily, will some kind of stop sign be put in place so those who park in the garage to catch the metrolink can get out. On Friday evening during rush hour, there was a high volume of traffic coming from Eager, since there are no stop signs for traffic coming from that direction nobody was stopping, therefore getting out of the garage was extremely difficult. Thank you
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: Meridian was built by the developed and is their responsibility. It is within the City of Brentwood. We have been talking with St. Louis County, the city and developer about these issues, but at this point there are no changes planned. We are going to continue monitoring this and talking about it. Last Friday night was the first night of the changes. We do expect it will take people a while to get used to it. We are encouraging Eager drivers to also use Hanley Industrial to get from Eager to Hanley.
