mmbbeerrtt: Is there going to be an exit eastbound on 40 east of Hampton onto Oakland? Is that the new Oakland exit? Thanks
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: Yes. At the Hampton interchange when you are eastbound on I-64 you will have an extra exit for Oakland Ave. This Oakland exit will take you to Oakland just east of Hampton Avenue and will be a good option for people heading to the Community College, Science Center, SLUH and other locations along Oakland east of Hampton.

AnnieRuether: How is the Big Bend overpass coming along? Any chance it'll open early?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: There is a chance. We are hoping to open it in early November. The scheduled deadline for Big Bend is the end of November. Let's get this rain to stop and we can make it early!

SchwaSTL: As rainy as it's been lately (and appears to be in the near future), do you have things you can still do during the rain, or does that shut everything down because of the stage you're at? At what point do you need X number of dry days to be able to hit your goal date?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: There are things we can do in the rain depending on how hard it is raining. Crews have been doing tree planting and other similar work on the light rain days. The rainy days certainly aren't helping. We have a deadline of December 31 to open the highway, but we are hoping to open sooner than that. The date of the opening very much depends on how many days of rain we get.

Marc: I understand the project is ahead of schedule. Does that mean the opening is ahead of schedule too? If so, what day are we talking?
Dan Galvin and Linda Wilson: The deadline is still December 31. We hope to be ready to announce the exact date in early November.
