bhfudbal99: Do you know what happened to Juan Gonzalez? He was playing real well at spring training last year, but then got injured and haven't heard about him ever since.
Jeff Gordon: Yeah, well, welcome to Juan Gone's world. When he gets hurt, he stays hurt. Albert got him a look-see, but it was inevitable that he would get hurt and disappear. Thank goodness the Cards didn't trade somebody to clear a spot for him.

HugeCardfan: Matt just asked you about players ready to enter FA but included Ludwick. I think he is in his first year of arb and has a couple years before FA. However, Wellemeyer should be a FA at the end of the year. If he continues to pitch this year like he has for us the past 2, shouldn't he be locked up a while?
Jeff Gordon: Ludwick is controlled for three more years, I believe. That is why he has value to other teams in a trade. I believe the Cards will lock him up after this year, if he duplicates his success and stays healthy.

Wellemeyer is a good case. This team has bucked up before to keep guys out of free agency. With the market softening for lower-end FAs, maybe Todd would be willing to look at an extension later this year if all goes well. He fits well here. If he stays healthy, he could turn into a strong No. 4-type starter.

stan's-my-man: Has Coach indicated whether he plans to live in St. Louis or will his family remain on the east coast?
Jeff Gordon: This is a year-round job. The family comes here.

Kevin: If the cardinals have a season like last (good, but miss the playoffs-3rd year in a row) what are the chances % wise that larussa will be back? If they make the playoffs what are the chances?
Jeff Gordon: Make playoffs: 90 percent.
Miss playoffs: Depends on how close the Cards are and how the kids are progressing.

Kevin: A what if senerio...if Ryan was hired here would he have maybe chosen linehan to run the offense?!?!...( I would hope not...but it looks like he has interest in linehan)
Jeff Gordon: Something tells me that would have been too awkward to try.
