therealdealankiel: Gordo,
I'm seeing a pitching market that may actually play into Mo's hands (not offering 3 years or more) long enough for Carp's deal to come off the books. It looks like a lot of this years guys are going to have to settle for 1-2 year deals, and they will join next years market that should include Bedard, Lackey, Myers and Wellemeyer in addition to others. Suffice to say, it looks like St. Louis might be bargain hunting for a few more years (not that there's anything wrong with that)....fair assessment?
Jeff Gordon: Fair enough. In that time, the Cards would also hope to find some more Kyle McClellan types to fill slots at a modest price.
ActionJackson39: Gordo,
Why can't the Rams go out and get at least ONE big free agent (Gross, Peppers, etc.)? Mid-level guys to me seems cheap.
Jeff Gordon: At the end of the day, the same amount of dough will be spent. I like going for quality, but this team needs some quantity.
Steve (Roch. NY): I haven't heard anything from Marshall or Dan Dierdorf about the hiring of Spagnuolo, any idea what they think of the new HC?
Jeff Gordon: Haven't heard, but this guy is pretty well-respected. How could NFL insiders not like him.
eternalramnation: Gordo,
Supposedly Spags wanted say on the 53 man roster. Any idea how that was settled between Devaney and Spags?
Jeff Gordon: The coach always has say on who plays and who doesn't. Devaney's job, as he explains it, is to get as many good players as he can for the coach. Then it is up to the coaches to make the final call. Billy has no issues with this.
I believe we have officially beat this horse dead.
bhfudbal99: Gordo,
Who wins tonight; Cavs or Lakers?
Jeff Gordon: Lakers. That is a shout to Coach Wilson, my favorite Kobe lover.
Thanks for all the great questions and comments. See you next time!
