Tacleberry: Gordo,
Please stop even hinting at Matt Morris! He is the pitching equivilant of Jim Edmonds, why would we want him back? He has gotten worse every year since he has left and he gives up a ton of jacks!
Jeff Gordon: Well, he would still be an upgrade from what we saw from Wells and Maroth last year -- and he would offer some insurance. I'd take him working with Duncan for one more year.
Jon: I loved the pick of Carricker by the Rams last year, and by season's end, he showed to be a great player this year. Plus, Ryan may have been the best "value" pick of the 07 draft. That being said, it is looking like a strong possibility that Glenn Dorsey could fall into the Rams lap. In my opinion, he is too good a talent to pass on, and I think Jake Long is much less of a sure thing, or impact player for that matter. What are the chances the Rams ask Carricker to drop the 20+ pounds he put on last year, in order to be around 280-285 and move back to to end? A young line with Pickett, Dorsey, and Carricker could strike fear into QBs and RBs a like for years to come...
Jeff Gordon: It's a thought. Carriker may be better at DE, especially in a 3-4. But if the Rams went 3-4, where would Dorsey fit. In a 4-3, the Rams would really lack edge rush with Little aging and Carriker and Adeyanju as the two young DEs.
Glenn Turner: Any word on the Cards adding another starter. I do like J Affeldt. He is a lefty. He can provide some starts and is a rubber arm in the pen. Any news on Weaver? Good news with signing Molina. Does it seem salaries are flattening out for your good to avg players but still flying for the really good players?
Jeff Gordon: Affledt would have been a good pick up, but the Reds made the move on him. I sure hope that didn't come down to just money . . .
matt: What's a realistic prediction of a Full Chris Duncan Season?
.265
25 hrs
70 rbi
?
god i hope the avg. goes up.
Jeff Gordon: A full season would be much better than that. In 665 major league at bats, he has 44 homers and 116 RBI -- and he played hurt for a chunk of last season.
JT: Superbowl prediction?.. Giants or Patriots? And what do you think the socore will be?
Jeff Gordon: The Patriots ought to win. But will the Giants power running game and strong "D" keep them from covering?
I haven't thought much about the score. Maybe 27-20 Pats in a pleasingly competitive game.
