Griff21: Ideally who would start at 3rd while Glaus is out? I'd like to see Mather and Freese split the time. Are guys likely to play off the bench like thurston who would get a look
Jeff Gordon: Thurston has been a middle infielder, so that may not work.
I'm eager to see Mather field at 3B this spring and Freese hit against big-league pitching.
Kevin: Any chance we add an OF next year because Ankiel will be gone? Wallace is the 3B of the future am I right? Glaus and Ank are a lot of our power. If Luddy's 2008 was a fluke, we'll need a power hitter. Pujols wants mor eprotection. Should we buck up for Jason Bay? My ideal 2009 Offseason:
Placido Polanco 2B
Jason Bay LF (power bat)
Is that a realistic expectation? Thanks ahead.
Jeff Gordon: Wallace could be an outfielder, with Freese playing third.
Wallace could put up Bay-like numbers in time.
Luke: Gordo:
What are the chances that the cards start the season without both Glaus and Pujols?
Jeff Gordon: I wouldn't worry about Pujols just yet.
AJ: Jeff, I would say that it has been a down last few years for St. Louis sports, but I think it is just how the sports cycle goes. How long do you think it will be before St. Louis sports return the the top? I think all our teams are just young and are gaining experience in the big leagues, who do you think will emerge as the new face of St. Louis sports?
Jeff Gordon: I'd expect the Cards to at least contend this year and be pretty good for a while. The Blues could make a move next year. The Rams will be better, but we're probably looking at two years.
Joe Stafford: Jeff, any chance that the Klop will be shown the door? And I have to agree with you, Bennett does drop way too many passes in Madden, if he isn't on IR!
Jeff Gordon: Yes, he could be shown the door.
